Midori ribbon got their start in Seattle and had offices across town from us for many years letting us easily shop their annual sample sale, visit in person on a regular basis and pick up critical orders for same day processing. In 2011 they changed ownership and moved to sunny LA which put an end to our same day and next day shipping of their entire inventory. We now are three days away from Midori with normal processing and while we can offer you drop shipping options to speed processing time it comes with a $7.50 price tag. Satin ribbon can be the final elegant touch you have been looking for. Double faced satin has been around since the 11th century. Garments made with satin were first made only for the wealthy.
Satin weave superficially resembles twill but does not have the regular step in each successive weft that characterizes twills. Thus there is no strong diagonal line, and the fabric is smooth faced, with an unbroken surface made up of long floating warp yarns.
They are finished in a manner that avoids raveling, with edges, (selvages) running lengthwise, and parallel to the warp yarns.
